Several years ago I visited Trinity AME in Newberry, SC seeking info about family members I had visited when I was a child. I discovered headstones of some of those relatives. Larkin Jackson, Eugene Metts, Hiram Cleland (all African Americans). Is this church still active? I have tried to call a phone # and have left messages with no return calls. I now live on the west coast and would like to talk to anyone who may have info about the church/ family member. It is located in the Silver Street section of Newberry.

Elijah Calk signed his name on a document in Newberry Co, SC in 1792. He was a witness in a court case involving Elizabeth Harding and Col. Philemon Waters both formerly of Prince William Co, Va. Does anyone have any information on Elijah Calk and his family in that area?
