My dad, son of Grace Hampton and Charlie Wilmore. Grandson of Phoebe, described as a full West Indian. John's siblings were/are Alice, Dot, Ruth, Sarah, "Waterboy" and others but names unknown. John was from a large family- 21 siblings. Cousins were the Hamptons, Link and Perry and others but names unknown. John left Great Falls, Chester County, South Carolina after the death of his sister Sarah. Sarah's death was related to a fire in the home. Sarah was intellectually disabled and was dependent on John and his wife Annabel until her untimely death. I have heard of a family camp being held by members of my dad's family in August. If anyone has any information it would be appreciated. Also my dad spoke about his grandfather who had been one of the enslaved.
