I would like to know more about my gr gr grandparents. They lived in Anderson before and during the civil war. Toliver was killed in the Battle of Franklin Tenn. There is some confusion about who his real father was I have a letter that says it was Elijah Taylor who lived in Anderson. On the ancestry pages it says he was the son of George Taylor the President's brother. It is also on the photograph of the stone in Find a grave supposedly put there by the VA. It says that George Taylor was married to a Mary Ann Campbell and had two children including Toliver. Toliver was born in Charleston not in Louisville. Mary Ann died in Christian, Ky. I am trying to piece together what the history of this is. My aunt that left the letter said all records before Elijah were destroyed. Elijah was her gr. grandfather. She just stated that he was a first cousin of the President and I cannot find which son he would have been decended from. If anyone can help me figure this out I would love to hear from you.

William RUTLEDGE, according to his son, Elisha Calvin RUTLEDGE’s bible, was born in Abbeville District, SC on 17 October 1792 and married 15 June 1820 to Rachel Williams in GA? Rachel Williams, daughter of William Williams and Rachel (Nelson) was born in Jones Co, GA on 25 April 1806. I am looking for the parents of William RUTLEDGE. According to the 1790 SC Census, 96 District, Abbeville, there are 3 possibilities: Russell, Garrett and John RUTLEDGE. The given names of Russell and Garrett are prevalent in the descendant’s charts. Also a Russell RUTLEDGE married 1st Polly GARNER (1812, Morgan Co, GA) and 2nd to Wineford Williams, sister of Rachel Williams, wife of William C. RUTLEDGE. Are they Brothers??? Can YOU help? I will share all information.
